BIOGRAPHY Lifestyle and Image Consultant Talisa Lavarry began her journey in 2000 when deciding to pursue a Bachelors of Science Degree in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing at the University of Louisiana in Monroe. She always knew that she had a passion for fashion and a level of creativity that would help her in her chosen career. While working towards her Bachelors Degree she worked as a retail manager for Limited Brands and later landed an Entrepreneurial internship that focused on Boutique Management and Apparel Buying. Days after graduating from college Talisa became a buyer for Penn National Gaming within their Gift shop and Spa. This position afforded Talisa the opportunity to travel to several trade shows and markets including The Dallas Market Center and Apparel Mart, The Magic Show in Las Vegas and The Javits Center in New York just to name a few. Talisa later moved to Dallas Texas and accepted a position as a wedding accessories buyer for Michaels Arts and Crafts. While traveling within and outside of the U.S. Talisa quickly learned the importance of networking and found herself working with several designers helping them with model scouting, management and fashion show production. Talisa began to realize how broad her passions were and how many different areas of the fashion industry were appealing to her. She consistently found herself meeting the right people at the right time and learning more and more about the fashion industry. This venture of learning and applying gradually became what is known today as, Lavarry Creative Group. Talisa is the author of Random Blessings, A Fashion Addicts Path to Compassion. This fiction novel raises awareness about the female homeless community and capitalizes on the importance of a positive image and self-esteem for women. A portion of the proceeds from book sales are donated to a local homeless shelter. Having a passion for young girls and self-esteem Talisa created this program to give Fathers and other positive male role models the opportunity to gain more insight about the hearts of the little Princesses in their lives. This interactive event was designed with the fragile, developing self-perception of girls in mind and the mission is to cultivate healthy and nurturing relationships between this demographic and the adult males that they look to for support and guidance. Talisa's passion for women and their self-esteem motivates her to seek opportunities through speaking engagements, trainings and workshops to reach out to as many people as she can sharing stories of her own personal triumph while encouraging women of all ages to develop, nurture and protect their personal self-image both inside and out.
